As primary Western markets experience growing regulatory hurdles, power grid strain, and physical land limits, economic zone regimes present a pre-industrialized solution to meet the explosive demand for digital infrastructure.

The global data center market currently operates around 10,000 facilities worldwide, with total capacity projected to double within the next five years. However, traditional tech hubs are reaching critical capacity caps.

A global bottleneck creates a regional opening

In the United States, 30 states have passed measures restricting data center development due to public grid pushback and environmental considerations. Tier-1 regional hubs like Singapore have similarly faced physical and energy constraints, forcing global operators to seek alternative, high-growth destinations across the Asia Pacific region.

According to WTCA, this global supply bottleneck creates a direct opportunity for Philippine ecozone developers and operator hubs across key growth corridors like Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, and Clark to capture high-value digital foreign direct investment (FDI).

With PEZA already hosting over 290 IT parks and specialized centers nationwide, the sector has emerged as a major economic pillar, attracting multi-billion-peso digital infrastructure pipelines from global hyperscalers. That footprint continues to grow. In July 2026, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed Administrative Order 45, lifting a seven-year moratorium on new IT park and IT center applications in Metro Manila. Within days, five Metro Manila developments had applied for ecozone status, an early signal of how quickly developers are positioning themselves to capture the opportunity.

“Data centers make up essential infrastructure for artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital commerce, and the broader digital economy,” said Scott Wang, WTCA Vice President, Asia Pacific. “They also represent a rapidly growing real estate and investment opportunity. Free Zones that can provide the right combination of infrastructure, incentives, and investment support are exceptionally well-positioned to attract this global industry.”

A tri-ecosystem approach to de-risking investment

To bridge international capital with local sites, WTCA highlights a “tri-ecosystem” approach. By uniting the global access network and international credibility of the World Trade Center (WTC) brand with the fiscal incentives of economic zones and ready infrastructure, developers can de-risk hyperscale projects for international clients.

The three elements work together to sharpen returns as much as they reduce risk. The WTCA network connects developers directly to hyperscalers and capital sources, free zone incentives lower construction and equipment costs, and ready infrastructure shortens time to deployment. The WTC brand itself also carries a market premium, reflecting the added value international credibility brings to an investment.

The highest-value real estate play

For Philippine property leaders and ecozone operators, this shift marks a significant evolution in industrial real estate. Beyond traditional IT-BPO office spaces and standard logistics warehouses, data centers offer developers the highest value-added return per square meter.

During the recent WTC Free Zones webinar “Unlocking Data Center Investment: The Role of the WTCA network in Connecting Free Zones and Developers,” speakers discussed how Free Zones can position themselves as investment-ready destinations for data center developers and operators, and how WTCA Members can play an active role as connectors, facilitators and partners in that investment journey.

WTCA Free Zones Go Global

“In terms of return, a data center is fundamentally a real estate play,” said Martín Gustavo Ibarra, President and CEO of Araújo Ibarra International Business Consultants — WTCA’s partner organization behind the “Free Zones Go Global” initiative. “Data centers are a real estate business with the most concentrated value-added per square foot. When a city has a good data center system, it connects that city to the world and attracts high-value service industries like AI, fintech, cloud, and BPO.”

Built to deploy at scale

Modern AI workloads are driving facility requirements from legacy sizes to massive 200-megawatt and gigawatt-scale deployments, requiring immediate access to industrial land, pre-secured utility hookups, and underground fiber routes. Readiness varies by corridor, and power capacity in particular remains an active focus of government and private investment as Philippine zones compete for these larger, hyperscale-level deployments.

In the Philippines, World Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM) represents the local footprint of this global network. As WTCMM marks 30 years since opening in 1996, the organization is looking at how that network can extend beyond its Metro Manila home to support emerging economic zone opportunities. “As WTCMM marks 30 years of connecting the Philippines to global trade, we’re keeping a close watch on how the WTCA network could support Philippine economic zones as this next wave of investment takes shape,” said Pamela D. Pascual, Chairman and CEO of WTCMM, and WTCA Board Director.

Through its global network spanning over 300 WTC locations in nearly 100 countries and territories, WTCA continues to facilitate cross-border partnerships, connecting international technology firms, hyperscale developers, and capital sources with qualified economic zones worldwide.

APAC — As cybersecurity teams increasingly turn to artificial intelligence to manage growing security demands, Tenable is taking a collaborative approach to the challenge with the launch of the CyberAgents Exchange, an open-source platform designed to help security practitioners discover, share, and develop trusted AI-powered security components.

Powered by Tenable, the CyberAgents Exchange is positioned as a vendor-agnostic, cybersecurity-focused registry for AI agents, skills, MCP servers and multi-agent playbooks. The initiative aims to address a growing problem across the industry: security teams developing AI tools independently, often duplicating efforts and working within isolated or vendor-controlled environments.

Building a More Collaborative Cybersecurity Community

The CyberAgents Exchange is designed to break down those silos by creating a free-to-use environment where cybersecurity professionals can share and build agentic AI tools.

Trust and transparency are central to the platform. Users can access code-level information about an AI component, including who created it, when it was developed and whether it has received peer support. This gives security teams greater visibility as they evaluate and deploy components for their own environments.

The platform could also serve as a professional development resource, allowing practitioners to demonstrate experience with emerging AI technologies while building a portfolio of peer-supported security components.

For Seth Fogie, Director of Security at Baptist Memorial Health Care, the collaborative nature of the initiative is particularly important.

“The CyberAgents Exchange fills a major and pressing industry need, especially as cybersecurity remains a growing issue and AI-enabled attacks rise,” said Fogie. “Its core philosophy of working together is what made the threat intelligence community so invaluable. My team has benefited greatly from the Exchange, and we look forward to contributing and collaborating with the wider community.”

Industry Leaders Join as Founding Members

The initiative is also gaining support from established cybersecurity companies.

SentinelOne and Recorded Future have joined the CyberAgents Exchange as founding members, bringing expertise in autonomous security operations and threat intelligence to the emerging ecosystem. Both organizations are expected to contribute AI agents, integration frameworks and playbooks aimed at strengthening collective defenses against evolving AI-driven threats.

The launch also coincides with “SWARM: The Cybersecurity Agentic AI Build Event,” a hands-on, multi-day event taking place during Black Hat USA 2026. Sponsored by AWS and presented with support from Anthropic, the event gives security practitioners an opportunity to develop open-source security agents, skill files and MCP servers.

More Than 50 AI Components Already Available

The CyberAgents Exchange launches with more than 50 open-source AI components, giving security teams a starting point for experimenting with agentic cybersecurity workflows.

Among them is Navi, an agent that uses Tenable One Vulnerability Management APIs to automate common vulnerability-management and cyber-exposure workflows.

The Exchange also includes SentinelOne Purple AI, an MCP server that allows users to access SentinelOne services through an MCP client; Recorded Future MITRE APT Attack Path Analysis, which combines threat intelligence with Tenable findings to identify potentially exploitable attack-path nodes; and SOC-Hunter, a skill used by Tenable’s own security operations team for proactive, hypothesis-driven threat hunting.

Another offering, The Hounds Pack, provides a skill-packaged playbook built around 18 exposure-management specialists designed to hunt, tag and calibrate risk.

“Security Is a Team Sport”

For Tenable Chief Technology Officer Vlad Korsunsky, the initiative reflects a fundamental principle of cybersecurity: organizations are stronger when they work together.

“Security is a team sport. We’ve addressed a gaping hole in the ecosystem of AI Agents, built for defenders, by defenders. With the CyberAgents Exchange, we’re creating a collaborative ‘town square’ where cybersecurity practitioners can build, test, improve and share the best in agentic defense,” said Korsunsky.

He added that Tenable’s experience in open source, combined with its global customer and partner ecosystem, puts the company in a strong position to help develop the initiative and expand the capabilities of security teams.

SentinelOne also sees open collaboration as increasingly important as cyber threats become more autonomous.

“To truly scale defenses against autonomous, AI-driven threats, the security community must move past isolated development and vendor-locked silos,” said Braden Preston, vice president of product management, SentinelOne.

Recorded Future likewise emphasized that intelligence and trust need to remain at the heart of autonomous cybersecurity.

“Joining the CyberAgents Exchange as a founding member lets us bring world-class threat intelligence directly into the open-source frameworks security teams are building today,” said Jamie Zajac, Chief Product Officer at Recorded Future. “But the promise of AI agents in security depends entirely on whether they can be trusted.”

An Open Invitation to the Cybersecurity Community

The CyberAgents Exchange is available as a free, open-source community, with no fees for listing or using agents. The model is deliberately designed to encourage participation from security practitioners, technology companies and other members of the cybersecurity community.

As AI increasingly becomes part of both offensive and defensive cybersecurity, the industry’s challenge is moving beyond simply developing smarter tools. The bigger question is how those tools can be made trusted, transparent, reusable and collaborative.

Tenable’s CyberAgents Exchange represents one attempt to answer that challenge: rather than having every security team build its own AI capabilities from scratch, practitioners can contribute to a shared ecosystem where ideas, components and expertise can move faster.

In an environment where cyber threats themselves are becoming increasingly AI-enabled, collaboration may prove to be one of the industry’s most important defenses.

For more information and to contribute to the CyberAgents Exchange, visit the platform identified by Tenable as exchange.tenable.com.

TAGUIG CITY, PHILIPPINES — To bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world industry demands, the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) and telecommunications giant Globe formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on July 28, 2026, at The Globe Tower in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Under the strategic alliance, Globe will serve as the official co-presenter of the PRSP Student Caravans—the flagship educational roadshow of PRSP that aims at upskilling communication and public relations students across the Philippines—as well as its culminating benchmark event, the National Student PR Congress & Grand Prix.

The partnership formalizes a shared commitment to equip young Filipino communicators with digital-first tools, ethical communication frameworks, and industry mentorship as they prepare to enter an evolving workforce.

STEWARDING THE STORYTELLERS OF TOMORROW. PRSP President Ana Pista, APR delivers the opening statement during the Globe and PRSP MOU signing, emphasizing the shared vision to equip students nationwide with industry-ready skills, ethics, and career opportunities.

Bridging Academe and Industry

As part of its major co-presentation commitment, Globe will actively enrich the educational content across PRSP’s flagship student programs. The telecom leader will provide executive speakership for three PRSP Student Caravan legs as well as a plenary speakership slot at the upcoming National Student PR Congress & Grand Prix.

Additionally, Globe will host an interactive booth activation during the National Student PR Congress & Grand Prix, offering participating students immersive brand experiences, digital tools, and networking opportunities, alongside joint promotional efforts for all events.

By coming on board as co-presenter, Globe will expand the reach of these student-focused engagements, enabling PRSP to scale its educational footprint to more universities and regional learning centers nationwide.

“The future of public relations relies on how well we prepare the next generation today,” said Ana Pista, APR, President of PRSP. “Our partnership with Globe allows us to take the PRSP’s strategic thrust to ‘Steward the Story’ further. Stewarding the story begins with stewarding our students, guiding young communicators across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao so that they are anchored in truth, ethics, and industry-standard practices.”

Democratizing Digital Readiness

The upskilling initiative aligns with Globe’s broader push to empower young Filipinos through technology, digital literacy, and practical skills development. Globe will contribute insights on digital enablement, responsible technology use, and corporate sustainability.

“As young Filipinos increasingly leverage digital platforms to learn, create, and lead, we must ensure they have the tools and guidance to navigate today’s complex communications landscape,” said Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at Globe. “We are proud to co-present the PRSP Student Caravans as part of our commitment to nurturing young talent, fostering digital literacy, and building a more empowered, future-ready generation.”

Nurturing Future Industry Leaders

The MOU signing was attended by key leaders from both organizations, including PRSP Trustee and Chair of Student Caravan and Grand Prix Steve Michael M. Moore Jr., alongside Globe executives.

“This partnership goes beyond a traditional corporate sponsorship. It is an investment in human capital,” added Steve Michael M. Moore Jr. “By bringing industry experts directly into academic spaces, we are giving students a realistic view of modern PR while inspiring them to steward meaningful stories for national progress.”

MANILA, Philippines — Some careers are measured by the businesses they build. Others are remembered for the industries and communities they help strengthen along the way.

For Roberto “Bobby” Claudio, both have become part of a retail journey spanning decades.

At the 2026 Outstanding Filipino Retailers (OFR) Awards, Claudio was honored with the PRA President’s Award as a Pillar of Philippine Retail Leadership, alongside Ma. Alegria “Bing” Limjoco. The recognition celebrates decades of service and lasting contributions to the growth of Philippine retail.

It is a distinction that reflects not simply longevity, but a career that connects entrepreneurship, industry leadership, advocacy, and service.

From a Small Greenhills Store to a Philippine Retail Institution

Claudio’s entrepreneurial story began modestly.

In 1978, he left his job at a multinational company and opened a small toy store in Greenhills Shopping Center with the help of his brothers. Called Toby’s Forms and Shapes, the business was named after his eldest son.

The original concept did not last long.

Instead of holding on to something that was not working, Claudio recognized another opportunity and transformed the business into a sporting goods store—a decision that would eventually help reshape sports retail in the Philippines.

That willingness to adapt would become an enduring lesson from his career.

Today, Toby’s Sports has grown from that small Greenhills shop into a major multi-brand sports retailer carrying more than 100,000 items from over 160 brands, according to the company’s website.

But Claudio’s influence would eventually extend far beyond the company he helped build.

Helping Build the Organization Behind Philippine Retail

One of the most significant aspects of Claudio’s legacy is his long association with the Philippine Retailers Association.

PRA identifies Claudio as one of its founding members, making his connection to the organization part of a much longer story than his recent leadership positions.

He was elected PRA President for the 2023-2025 term, during which the association pursued initiatives involving fair competition, intellectual property rights, sustainability, tourism, digital transformation and people development.

Among the initiatives highlighted during his leadership were support for policies intended to create a more level playing field between traditional and online retailers, stronger cooperation with organizations concerned with intellectual property and competition, participation in the United Nations Global Compact, support for tourism-related retail initiatives, and programs addressing digital transformation and skills development.

His contribution to association leadership was recognized beyond the retail community in 2024, when the Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives named him Outstanding Association Board Member of the Year at its ANG SUSI Awards.

When PRA elected its new officers for 2025-2027, Golden ABC’s Alice Liu succeeded Claudio as President, while Claudio assumed the position of Chairman of the PRA Board—continuing his involvement in guiding the organization.

Leadership Through Collaboration

Claudio’s record at PRA also illustrates an important aspect of modern retail leadership: building relationships beyond one’s own company.

During his presidency, PRA strengthened collaborations touching areas ranging from intellectual property and digital commerce to sustainability and tourism. One example was the renewal of PRA’s agreement with FILSCAP, which provided benefits to qualified PRA members while supporting a continuing relationship between retail and the creative sector.

This collaborative approach matters because retail has become increasingly interconnected.

Retailers today must navigate technology, e-commerce, regulation, sustainability, intellectual property, changing consumer behavior and workforce transformation simultaneously.

No single retailer can address all those challenges alone.

Industry associations therefore become more important—not merely as networking organizations, but as platforms where businesses can find a collective voice.

Claudio’s years of involvement with PRA helped reinforce that principle.

A Legacy That Also Looks to the Next Generation

There is another dimension to Claudio’s story that extends beyond commerce.

Through the Toby’s Youth Sports Foundation, the organization has supported programs using sports as a vehicle for youth development and community engagement. The foundation has worked with various organizations and communities, while its long-running Sports for Hope initiative was recognized in 2015 as a leading sports corporate social responsibility program.

That commitment provides another perspective on Claudio’s legacy.

Retail leadership can be about growing stores, increasing market share and building brands. But its broader value emerges when business becomes a platform for contributing to communities and creating opportunities for others.

What the 2026 PRA President’s Award Represents

The Pillar of Philippine Retail Leadership recognition at the 2026 OFR Awards therefore carries particular meaning.

Claudio’s story stretches from the entrepreneurial decision to transform a small Greenhills toy store in 1978 into what would become Toby’s Sports, to helping lead an organization representing the interests and aspirations of the country’s retail community.

Across that journey runs a consistent thread: adapt, collaborate, and keep building.

It is also a story that mirrors Philippine retail itself.

The industry Claudio entered in the late 1970s bears little resemblance to today’s marketplace of e-commerce, omnichannel shopping, artificial intelligence, data-driven operations and rapidly evolving consumer expectations.

Yet the fundamentals that allowed businesses to endure remain recognizable: understanding customers, responding to change, building relationships and having the courage to reinvent when circumstances demand it.

That may ultimately explain why a legacy award matters.

It does not simply recognize what a leader accomplished in the past.

It recognizes what that person’s work made possible for those who came after.

For Roberto “Bobby” Claudio, the 2026 PRA President’s Award is a recognition of a businessman who helped build an enduring Filipino retail enterprise, a founding member who continued serving the PRA decades later, and an industry leader who remained engaged as Philippine retail entered a new generation.

From entrepreneur to advocate, from PRA President to Chairman, his journey demonstrates that some of the strongest business legacies are not built by standing at the center of an industry.

They are built by helping the entire industry move forward.

E3 2026 is designed to help event professionals source reliable partners, discover emerging technologies, and access practical solutions that elevate every stage of event planning and execution. From venue and production services to event technology, logistics, creative solutions, and business support, E3 offers a carefully curated marketplace where quality, credibility, and innovation come together.

This year’s edition places a stronger emphasis on delivering measurable value for both exhibitors and buyers by creating an environment where meaningful business conversations lead to lasting partnerships. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect directly with companies that have the expertise, experience, and capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the events industry, making E3 a one-stop destination for trusted event solutions.

Leveraging the global network of the prestigious World Trade Centers Association, E3 2026 is also poised to welcome a broader community of international exhibitors, buyers, and industry practitioners from across the region. This expanded global reach creates greater opportunities for cross-border collaboration, knowledge exchange, and business development while further positioning the Philippines as an emerging destination for the meetings, incentive travel, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry.

The two-day expo will feature more than 100 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations in event technology, production, venue solutions, logistics, infrastructure, creative services, and business solutions. Beyond the exhibition floor, E3 2026 offers a robust B2B experience through curated business matching sessions, pre-arranged buyer meetings, executive networking opportunities, and expert-led masterclasses where participants can gain valuable insights from leading industry practitioners on emerging trends, best practices, and the future of live events.

“The events industry thrives on strong partnerships and trusted solutions,” said Pamela D. Pascual, Chairman and CEO of World Trade Center Metro Manila. “E3 2026 is more than a showcase of products and services—it is a business platform that addresses the strong demand for organizers, suppliers, and decision-makers to come together to build relationships, discover new opportunities, and shape the future of events. By leveraging the strength of the World Trade Center network, we are opening more doors for local and international collaboration while reinforcing the Philippines’ role in the regional events landscape.”

Organized by World Trade Center Metro Manila, E3 builds on the organization’s three decades of experience in mounting international exhibitions and business events. Backed by the global reach of the World Trade Centers Association, which spans nearly 300 World Trade Centers across over 90 countries, the expo continues to strengthen its position as a gateway for international business, innovation, and industry collaboration.

Following a successful inaugural edition, E3 2026 is expected to attract even greater participation from local and international stakeholders, further establishing itself as one of Asia’s leading platforms for event sourcing, business networking, and industry advancement.

Inside The Feed Mill: Food Safety First | At RDF Feed, Livestock & Foods, Inc., each bag of feed reflects a commitment to safety, quality, and integrity. Every component is inspected upon arrival to ensure that only the highest-quality ingredients go into production. This practice supports RDF’s farm-to-table promise and delivers healthier animals and trustworthy Fresh Options meats.

A Company-Owned, Company-Operated Advantage

RDF’s company-owned, company-operated model provides full oversight from the feed mill and farms to the slaughterhouse and processing plants. This integration improves supervision and control over quality and safety, with Fresh Options as the flagship brand. By producing feed for its own farms, RDF enforces strict standards in ingredient selection, formulation, production, and biosecurity. As a result, operations remain consistent and fully accountable at every stage.

Two Silos, One Purpose: Protecting the Primary Ingredient

Two advanced corn silos use modern technology to preserve the quality of corn, the primary ingredient in swine and poultry feed. Sensors monitor conditions to prevent mold and contamination. The silo system also increases storage capacity and enhances biosecurity.

Safety and Quality: Disciplined Approach

The feed mill implements a comprehensive, end-to-end process to guarantee that only the highest-quality, safest feed reaches animals. Each stage is managed carefully: ingredients are sourced from trusted suppliers and undergo laboratory analysis; sanitation protocols are enforced; and processing follows clear SOPs. Automated systems and digital traceability allow real-time detection of issues, enabling immediate corrective action. Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), the Fedora System, a digital tracking platform for feed production and inventory, the Technical Service and Quality Assurance (TSQA) Department, and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards form a multilayered system that ensures accountability and continuous improvement. By ensuring the feed is consistently safe and high in quality, these controls promote animal health and reinforce consumer trust in Fresh Options products.

Digital Automation for Feed Safety

Digital automation improves safety, precision, and traceability at the feed mill. Automated controls and real-time monitoring detect deviations early and prevent errors. Two pellet machines produce uniform feed, while the SCADA Automation System provides oversight. The Fedora System tracks each raw material, batch, and production step through digital records, and mobile devices record quality checks and inventory movements in real time. These tools ensure transparency and protect product integrity.

Quality Oversight and Controls

The TSQA Department and Biolab oversee the entire production chain. All incoming ingredients are analyzed in the laboratory. Sanitation and biosecurity protocols maintain a contaminant-free environment. Processing follows SOPs and is monitored by automated systems that immediately flag deviations. Digital records enable rapid tracebacks and full accountability, while real-time QR-coded delivery tracking ensures accurate inventory and traceability to the farms. TSQA and Biolab’s audit, investigation, and corrective action cycle maintain continuous food safety control.

ISO 9001:2015 Certified: A Quality Management Milestone

The facility received ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2019, confirming that RDF’s systems met international standards for quality assurance and risk management. Although the company did not renew the certification due to a lack of external requirement, RDF continues to uphold the rigorous processes and standards established by the certification. Regular internal audits maintain these high standards. If future commercial or market needs require official accreditation, RDF is prepared to seek renewal and demonstrate its commitment to quality.

With robust systems that combine automation, strict quality controls, and end-to-end traceability, RDF’s feed mill safeguards the trust Filipino families place in every Fresh Options product. Each process, from raw materials to delivery, manages risk, ensures transparency, and maintains excellence. The feed mill is the vital link between farm and table, supporting healthier animals, safer food, and RDF’s dedication to earning and maintaining consumer confidence.

NRCE 2026 to Spotlight Exclusive Fireside Conversation with Teresita Sy-Coson and Steven Tan

MANILA, Philippines — Two of the country’s most respected retail leaders will take center stage at the 32nd National Retail Conference and Expo (NRCE 2026) as Teresita Sy-Coson, Vice Chairperson of SM Investments Corporation, and Steven Tan, President of SM Supermalls, headline an exclusive fireside conversation moderated by internationally acclaimed broadcast journalist Rico Hizon.

Organized by the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) as part of its 50th Anniversary celebration, the fireside session is expected to be one of the conference’s most anticipated highlights, offering attendees a rare opportunity to hear directly from leaders whose work has helped shape one of the Philippines’ most influential business organizations.

The conversation will focus on leadership, business, and the continuing evolution of Philippine retail—providing insights from decades of experience leading one of the country’s most recognized retail institutions. Rather than a keynote presentation, the fireside format allows for a more engaging and personal discussion, giving participants a unique perspective on leadership and the changing retail landscape.

SM’s story began with a single Shoe Mart store founded by the late Henry Sy Sr. and has since grown into one of the Philippines’ largest and most diversified business groups. Today, the SM brand has become synonymous with modern retail, shopping malls, banking, property development, and investments that continue to serve millions of Filipinos.

As Vice Chairperson of SM Investments Corporation, Teresita Sy-Coson has played a pivotal role in the company’s continued growth and strategic direction. Joining her is Steven Tan, who leads SM Supermalls, the country’s largest mall developer and operator, and has been instrumental in driving innovation and enhancing customer experiences across its nationwide network.

Moderating the discussion is Rico Hizon, one of Asia’s most respected broadcast journalists, whose decades of experience interviewing global business and government leaders promise an engaging and insightful conversation.

The fireside conversation forms part of the 32nd National Retail Conference and Expo, the country’s premier retail conference that annually gathers retailers, entrepreneurs, executives, and industry stakeholders to exchange ideas and explore the future of commerce. This year’s edition is themed “New. Next. Forward.” and will be held on August 6–7, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Manila.

Registration for NRCE 2026 is already closed. Entrepreneurs, retailers, business owners, executives, startups, and aspiring industry leaders are encouraged to join the expo to learn about the latest trends, technologies, and solutions transforming the retail industry.

Manila, Philippines – Fast-rising insurance company EastWest Ageas has officially been Certified by Great Place To Work® for a second year in a row. It earned this recognition after its head office employees and field sales personnel gave it a grade of 85%—20 points higher than the average employer.

Great Place To Work® is the global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and the leadership behaviors proven to deliver market-leading revenue, employee retention, and continued innovation.

Commenting on the certification, Lois Dalida, Chief People and Culture Officer, shares, “We are humbled and grateful to receive the certification once more. At EastWest Ageas, we value fostering a workplace culture that ensures our people thrive both in their professional and personal lives. This milestone only pushes us to continue pursuing this purpose and explore more ways to live up to our status as a Great Place to Work.”

People-First culture at EastWest Ageas

EastWest Ageas has achieved this certification through programs that focus on employee well-being, workplace engagement, and career advancement. The company’s WFH 2.0 program, which requires staff to report on-site twice a week, has also enabled employees to balance their work with their personal responsibilities.

EastWest Ageas also values empowering its people through training seminars that develop their skills. It also remains open to fresh ideas, allowing employees to take the lead in their respective departments.

These efforts are reflected in the company’s own numbers: 94% of the employees report feeling welcomed when they first joined EastWest Ageas. The company likewise saw its time-to-fill rate grow from 50% to 69% within the past year.

These internal results mirror broader patterns Great Place To Work has observed across certified companies. According to Great Place To Work research, job seekers value working at organizations with this certification, as they are 4.5 times more likely to find a supportive boss. Staff at these companies are 93% more likely to look forward to reporting to work. They are also twice as likely to be paid fairly, to earn a share of the company’s profits, and to have equal opportunities for a promotion.

For people planning to advance their careers in a company that puts them first, EastWest Ageas is currently hiring new talent. Check out its careers page at www.ewageas.com.ph.

As the Philippine hotel, restaurant, and café (HoReCa) industry competes for a share of the country’s estimated digital travel economy, businesses are facing growing pressure to deliver seamless, hyper-personalized, and secure experiences. This demand is increasingly shaped by fast-growing tourism segments, including medical and wellness tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), experiential travel, and the rising digital nomad or “workation” lifestyle.

To navigate this evolving landscape, sector leaders are prioritizing hyper-personalization, operational efficiency, and digital trust as key pillars of their business strategy. With 87% of Filipino consumers now expecting experiences tailored to their individual preferences, generic service presents a clear business risk. At the same time, industry-targeted cyber threats have risen by 325%, demonstrating that robust cybersecurity is a baseline necessity for guest confidence. Furthermore, implementing automated systems to handle routine processes such as billing and reservation modifications helps businesses mitigate ongoing labor shortages and rising costs, allowing staff to focus on high-value, personal guest interactions.

In response to these shifts, Globe Business believes the answer lies in what it calls Intelligent Transformation, an integrated approach that enables hospitality and food service organizations to harness cloud and data capabilities, supported by secure and reliable connectivity and cybersecurity. This approach reflects Globe Business’s commitment to powering premium guest experiences and more efficient operations.

By combining guest data, AI-enabled systems, and real-time analytics, hospitality and food service businesses can deliver more relevant recommendations and tailored interactions. According to industry benchmarks, executing this level of personalization can increase guest lifetime value by 20% to 30%. This unified digital foundation allows HoReCa organizations to replace fragmented legacy IT systems with a single, secure infrastructure.

“Today, the most successful hospitality businesses rely on how effectively a company integrates every digital touchpoint of the guest journey,” said Marlon Cruz, Head of Consulting and Architecture at Globe Business. “Intelligent Transformation helps organizations establish technology as a strategic asset that supports employees, safeguards guest data, and drives sustainable revenue.”

These operational priorities and digital strategies formed the core of discussions led by Globe Business during MyKar Events, Inc.’s 9th Hospitality Summit and 5th Food and Beverage Summit. Underpinning all these efforts is connectivity. Stable and reliable network infrastructure has evolved from a basic utility into a critical digital foundation, essential to enabling seamless, hyper-personalized, and secure customer experiences.

As the HoReCa industry continues to evolve, Globe Business remains committed to helping businesses navigate change through solutions that combine connectivity, cloud, cybersecurity, and data-driven innovation. By enabling Intelligent Transformation, the company aims to help hospitality and food service organizations create experiences that drive sustainable growth in an increasingly connected world.
